RIDING CULTURE is a subsidiary of THE ROKKER COMPANY AG which has made a name for itself amongst motorcycle riders over the last 15 years thanks to ultra-abrasion-resistant protective motorcycle clothing. Their products are manufactured in Portugal, Vietnam and Romania.
Besides them using organic cotton in their products, we could not find anything else on their sustainability goals and practices.
The product
Riding in jeans is definitely something we only do at the dirt jumps or on the pumptrack, but after ruining multiple ‘regular’ pants it was time to try something new. The Huppi Pro is made with a special mix of yarn, incorporating Kevlar fibers and creating an extremely abrasion resistant yet flexible fabric. Another bonus is that they only use organic cotton for their products.
You can tell the pants are designed by a rider, as it has all the smart details to make it perfect for riding. It’s loose fitting, but not too baggy that you end up getting tangled in with your bike.
The waistband has an integrated drawstring, and various pockets in the right places. The legs have a slim fit, making sure your chain won’t get them dirty. They are available in 16 different sizes, so you can always find a perfect fit.
Out on the trail
We used these jeans mostly at the pump track and in the skatepark. The fit is spot on, and it has enough stretch in them for throwing shapes. The knee is wide enough to fit a set of pads underneath too. Sizing is as labelled on their website, so it’s easy to find one that fits perfectly.
Verdict
Great product. Stylish enough for everyday life, strong enough for riding and crashing. If you ever ride in jeans, it’s definitely worth getting yourself a pair of these.
