Sometimes you bring a gun to a knife fight. Placitas is more suited to little bikes but I will say that my new Yeti SB160 with Flight Attendant did really well for a big bike, making itself efficient when I was hammering on the pedals, while remaining active in the chunky bits. This place would be a blast on my Yeti SB120, so I’ll have to throw that in the van for the next visit.
New trail day is only rivaled by new spider day. You would think that with all the time I spend in the desert, I would have seen a tarantula in person before, but today was definitely a first. Fortunately, in addition to riding bikes impressively well, Chris Boice is also a spider whisperer and talked our furry friend off of the trail and out of harms way. This little guy will live to spidey another day.
