BOLD Cycles Welcomes Rob Heran as New Global Ambassador
German Mountainbike icon Rob Heran, formerly known as Rob-J, joins the BOLD Riders Crew as a global ambassador.
BOLD Cycles today announces the signing of Rob Heran. The 41-year-old Munich based German mountain bike icon and former pro MTB freeride athlete will join the BOLD RIDERS CREW, which is BOLD’s ambassador team.
With over 25 years of experience as an athlete, creator, and MTB-industry expert, Rob brings in know-how in product development, brand marketing, as well as sales-supporting activities. Rob Heran will also be a BOLD Cycles dealer and continue to sell high end premium bikes in his Munich based shop.

Rob Heran is well known for his film series “Syncronicles”. Rob travels with his customized VW Syncro Van to the best riding spots in the world. He travelled through the Western Alps, through Morocco, and through Portugal creating stories. For the future he plans to ship the van overseas for a journey from Canada to the southwest region of the United States, and explore North America’s greatest single tracks.
Rob´s MTB career started when he visited a bike youth camp in 1998. Besides his active career as one of the so-called “Froriders”, Rob became a coach at the bike camps and a few years later he took over and organized the whole event, which today is known as one of Europe’s biggest youth bike camps. Since 2015, Rob has owned and run the youth bike camp, where his intention is to find future talents and teach kids all the secrets on the trails and in the park.
Rob has also invented events like the Trail Master Challenge, held in Austria.
In February 2019, Rob opened a boutique bike shop in Munich where bike enthusiasts can make their wildest dream bike builds come true. Rob’s customers are able to join when he builds the bikes to learn all the details about their new ride and how to make the correct settings. Rob has also built a vivid bike community in Germany’s bike hot spot.
