Val di Sole welcomes the IMBA Europe Summit: a window on the future of MTB
Val di Sole will host the 10th edition of the IMBA Europe Summit, regarded as the most important event regarding future trends and challenges in mountain biking, from June 1st to 4th, 2022. The event underscores the key role the valley plays in both Italian and international mountain biking.
IMBA is the acronym for the International Mountain Bicycling Association, a US organization that was born to foster the connection between mountain bike lovers and their respective regions.
It’s no coincidence that IMBA chose this valley to relaunch the in-person Europe Summit three years after the last in-person edition. Val di Sole is a region with a cycling livelihood: in addition to a record-breaking edition of the MTB World Championships and an innovative World Cup cyclo-cross race held on snow, Val di Sole received the Bike City Region designation from the Union Cycliste Internationale (International Cycling Union) in 2021.
Over the years, IMBA has engaged an increasingly diverse range of participants and organizations in its Europe Summit, from bike advocacy groups and companies, to consultants, industry professionals and enthusiasts, to political and sports delegates.
Together with the Val di Sole Tourist Board and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole, the 2022 IMBA Europe Summit will feature presentations, workshops, and fun mountain bike tours on the valley’s trails. In fact, the region’s bike resources are some of the most sought-after and celebrated on an international scale. The program for the IMBA Europe Summit is available to anyone interested, including mountain bike fans.
“We are proud to welcome an event of this significance,” explained Fabio Sacco, Director of the Val di Sole Tourism Board and Grandi Eventi Val di Sole. “Our valley is embarking on a strategic trajectory to enhance its bike offerings even more. The IMBA Europe Summit represents a great opportunity to talk about mountain biking and its trends, thanks to the many seminars scheduled for the event. Furthermore, the tours will allow riders to discover our vast resources dedicated to cycling, along with a wide range of outdoor experiences in our unique natural setting.”
