The new Pivot Point is a modern classic; a steel hardtail dirt jumper built to weather any apocalypse! When it comes to crafting a contemporary dirt jump bike, steel and simplicity still reign supreme.
Without any overblown fanfare or hype, Pivot is proud to announce its latest offering, the freshly updated Point. A zero-excess exercise in dirt jump minimalism, the Point is cleanly executed using double butted 4130 chromoly and TIG welders, and not a whole lot else. Steel offers a fantastic ride quality and unbeatable toughness; both important character traits in a bike designed to live an adrenaline-fueled life of pump tracks and jump lines.
“When it came to the frame of the Point, steel was the obvious choice,” says Chris Cocalis, CEO and founder of Pivot. “there is a bit of magic in the “feel of steel” and it is incredibly tough. That matters with a bike like this. Our goal was to build a bike that would perform well for everyone, pros and everyday riders alike, and to ensure it performs at a very high level, but is also tough and versatile enough to meet all their needs.”
In order to meet those needs, the Point is designed around modern park geometry with super-short chainstays, a long reach and a stout, tapered headtube. The short chainstays emphasize snap and acceleration, while the long reach adds stability to the mix. Adjustable rear dropouts allow chainstay length to be tailored to suit riding style or conditions, and riders can choose between running a rear derailleur or opting to set the Point up as a singlespeed.
The new Point will be available in in Pivot’s new Mojave colorway and can be purchased as either a frame only, priced at $599, or a complete build priced at $1599. The one-size-fits-most model is available now at key Pivot dealers worldwide. For more information visit: https://store.pivotcycles.com/en/bike-point-v2-1
