Not content with announcing a raft of new bikes (including the rather lovely looking ‘Reactor’), Nukeproof also has a solid lineup when it comes to clothing and rider apparel. With that in mind, here’s the latest autumn / winter kit from the brand, press release below:
The humble pant has seen fluctuations in fashion since the introduction. Mainly inspired by the MX industry with pioneering legends like Shaun Palmer choosing baggy over Lycra and continuations from with the next generation athletes like Nukeproof’s very own Sam Hill. Until recently an MX style pants was the only offering for mountain bikers who wished to ride with their legs fully covered. Whilst being super durable the construction was not ideal, with protection for riders from exhaust heat and a short cut to fit with MX boots. Thanks to new fabrics and finishes, recently there has been a resurgence of the trail pant. Numerous brands now offer light weight, breathable and stretchy its not now just for downhill.
Riding in the green island of Northern Ireland, you’re subjected to more than the fair share of moist conditions and the Nukeproof staff and our athletes are a real fan of pants and the protection from the elements and trail side debris they offer. As such, Nukeproof are pleased to introduce the Blackline Trail Pant (SRP £85). Proudly designed and developed by our team in house. The Trail Pant is constructed from super lightweight 4 way stretch polyester, designed for all day trail riding in all conditions.
Unlike many pants, the Nukeproof trail pants are long and come in two different inseam lengths 31.5″ in Small to Large with 33″ inseam on the XL and XXL. Giving riders full leg coverage. Slim tapered leg fitting reduces wind drag and doesn’t get hems caught in the drive train. The Polyester is light, breathable and moisture wicking and quick drying to keep you comfortable on the trail. Laser cut venting to add air flow to regulate temperature and dry the pant.
As with our shorts we use quality YKK zippers and closing studs to ensure longevity of the pant and also security of the fitting. With adjustable waist tabs to dial in the fit and silicon grip strips to secure the pant and not allow them to ride down when moving. Whilst not fully waterproof they keep most of the elements out and are DWR coated to repel light showers.
For those looking for waterproof protection, Nukeproof offer the Blackline Waterproof Short (£100). 2.5-layer shorts with 10,000mm waterproof and 10,000 g/m2 breathable. Including all the features you have come to expect from Nukeproof Shorts; triple stitched seams, quality YKK zips pockets and fly and adjustable waist tabs.
Also new for winter is the introduction of the Autumn Blackline gloves (£20). Designed as a mid-term (Autumn/ Spring glove) a simple single layer 100% Clarino palms offer quality grip and bar feel, with a warm top layer keeps off the colder climate. Long cuffs slide under jacket and jersey hems to lock in warmth. A wipe on the thumb is paired with silicone grip panels on brake fingers (and are touch screen compatible if you need it!)
We also offer the new super lightweight Nirvana Jacket (£150). This 2.5 layer fully waterproof jacket is taped sealed and 15,000mm waterproof, but crucially 30,000 g/m2 breathable, so your body can breathe and remain sweat free from the inside. Its lightweight body is fully packable so perfect for the unpredictable weather.
For causal style riders are our new range of Outland Dri Release Tech tee’s . These pack a tee fit, but with a performance fabric to wick moisture and fast drying. They are also antimicrobial and easy iron! Available in long and short sleeve. Also, out is a more causal ride line up with additions to the Softshell Jacket range the all new mid weight Outland Anorak, designed for the super cold days in the saddle or just on your way to the trails.
All of this is currently on sale now, through Nukeproof authorised retailers.
