Britain’s Best Back at Fort William for Downhill World Cup This Weekend
Sat 1st Jun, 2019 @ 12:30 am
A month after the first downhill World Cup in Slovenia the UCI MTB World Cup returns this weekend, at Fort William, Scotland.
Britain’s leading downhill riders and Red Bull athletes Rachel Atherton (x5 and reigning World Champion), Tahnee Seagrave (2018 World Championship silver medallist) and Gee Atherton (x2 World Champion) will be vying for wins in the elite women’s and elite men’s categories respectively. Seagrave snatched a win from the reigning women’s World Champion Atherton in Maribor, and is looking to defend her downhill crown at Fort William after a convincing win in 2018. A win for Rachel Atherton this weekend would take her to 38 World Cup wins in the UCI Downhill series.
Qualifying in the elite downhill category begins on Saturday 1st of June at 1:30pm, while the elite finals will be from 12:30pm on Sunday 2nd of June. All the action can be caught on Red Bull TV.
