Trek Unveils New Powerfly Lineup

Trek has announced a major renovation of its popular Powerfly electric mountain bike lineup, which now includes a long-travel OCLV Mountain Carbon model and features a smart new battery interface that takes the hassle out of removal, installation, and charging.
Better design, better experience
Trek’s all-new Removable Integrated Battery (RIB) addresses the major pain points of modern e-MTBs so riders can focus on what matters: enjoying the trail. The system fully integrates a Bosch 500Wh PowerTube battery into the frame with a compact one-piece battery and cover. RIB requires no tools for removal, so there are no extra parts or bolts to lose on the trail.
On most e-MTBs, battery access is under the down tube. But access to Trek’s RIB is on the driveside of the frame, in a cleaner and more protected spot. RIB also features an easy-carry handle and an external port for on-bike charging.
Carbon and aluminum models
The new Powerfly lineup features Alpha Platinum Aluminum hardtail, full suspension, and long-travel models, as well as an all-new long-travel carbon model, Powerfly LT 9.7. This flagship carbon model is built with Trek’s lightweight and trail-tough OCLV Mountain Carbon frame, a 150mm RockShox Deluxe RT3 RE:aktiv shock, a 160mm RockShox Yari fork, a SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain, and Shimano four-piston hydraulic brakes.
Exclusive frame and suspension tech
All full suspension and long-travel Powerfly models feature Trek’s exclusive Straight Shot downtube and Active Braking Pivot (ABP), a patented system that keeps the rear suspension active even when you’re on the brakes, along with Knock Block frame defense, a limiter that prevents spinning bars and fork crowns from damaging the frame.
New Powerfly Women’s hardtail
Powerfly 5 Women’s has the same performance suspension and drivetrain package as its unisex counterpart with Women’s Specific Design touchpoints that can provide a better fit from the start. All sizes except 18.5˝ feature a curved top tube for a lower standover height.
Reliable Bosch electronics
All Powerfly models are powered by a rugged 250-watt Bosch Performance CX motor built for off-road use.
Most Powerfly models are available now through Trek’s wide network of retail partners. The OCLV Mountain Carbon model will be available beginning in August. Prices range between $3799.99 MSRP and $5999.99 MSRP, with Powerfly 5 and Powerfly LT 9.7 at either end of the spectrum.
