2018 Merida One-Twenty
Sat 21st Jul, 2018 @ 3:30 am
For every DH and Enduro bike that hits the slopes there’s a short-travel trail shredder waiting in the shadows for its one chance to prove what it can do, after all, this is a game of fun – not just of numbers. Merida’s brand new One-Twenty is just such a bike.
Who Is The Bike Aimed At?
For people who just want one bike. The One-Twenty is the best all round bike in the Merida line-up. It’s best balanced for trail oriented riding on one side and demanding long distance rides with big climbs on the other.
For every price point, we offer an interesting option. From super high end, down to entry-level dual suspension version. All frames offer the same features – regardless of price point, only the weight and the material used differ.
Design Behind The Bike
The One-Twenty is the design highlight of our 2019 full suspension range. Closely related to the appearance of the flagship One-Sixty, the style of the One-Twenty maintains the surface structure and tube shape of its bigger brother while further lowering the standover height. This was achieved across all frame sizes.
We started with a new design from the ground up and without restrictions. A clean, elegant, and meaningful design language was the main goal. Starting at the dropouts, the eyes of the onlooker follow the lines all the way to the head tube ‘eyebrow’ where it seamlessly diverts to the downtube. The line continues via the bottom bracket all the way back to the rear drop out. An uninterrupted flow which guides through the bike without getting stuck or losing its way. The design elements are there to guide and to underline the onlooker in his attempt to grasp the form. Smooth surface transitions in conjunction with defined edges generate a soft play of light, shadow, reflection and light edges.
The shape of the bike mirrors the determination and concentration of the rider on the trail while hunting for the perfect line. Clean lines even during abrupt direction changes and stylistic confidence in any situation.
Decals
Deliberately minimalistic decals and a clear separation of colours underline the shape while the turbulent and playful elements accentuate the character of the bike.

Geometry Advantages and Riding Characteristics
The geometry of the new ONE-TWENTY hits the sweet spot be-tween being a super capable trail bike and a fast and reliable long distance machine. The further reduced stand over height improves maneuverability when the trail gets demanding while the slacked hand angle makes the bike an even better descender. Reduced weight and improved stiffness help turning every pedal stroke into forward motion.
