Move over, there’s another bike brand heading to the UK, this time packed with Austrian engineering and innovation.
Since founding in 1961 and now a 3rd generation family business, Austrian bike brand Simplon has gone from strength to strength. Based at its manufacturing site at beautiful Lake Constance, and just 40 minutes from the scenic Arlberg mountain range, Simplon has for many years been established as one of mainland Europe’s premium bike manufacturers. Previously not available outside the German speaking countries, the company is now heading for the UK with a 2017 line up that is sure to grab the attention of road cyclists, mountain bikers, commuters and leisure cyclists alike.
Renowned for high quality, great riding bikes and manufacturing based on individual customer order, Simplon is bringing its race proven pedigree to premium stores in the UK.
The road range offers something for everyone from elite racers to club and sportive riders. Manufactured from carbon fibre the Simplon Pavo, for example, comes in both super lightweight race and endurance sportive models whilst the MR.T2 is sure to get time trialists and triathletes’ taste buds watering with its cutting edge technology and stunning looks. The Simplon Nexio meanwhile is an Aero Race bike that is also comfortable enough to ride all day.
The Simplon mountain bike range sees a number of new models for 2017 all of which will be available in Britain for the first time. Stand out models include the Simplon Rapcon 160 and 140. These offer 160mm and 140mm travel respectively and run on 27.5 wheels. The lightweight but tough full carbon frame features adjustable wheelbase technology and the ability to adapt to standard or plus size tyres. In short, the Simplon Rapcon is an enduro race ready, trail-eating machine, combined with surprisingly spritely climbing performance for an All Mountain bike!
The Simplon Cirex 120 is a 120mm travel, carbon full suspension bike that is ready to race or just eat up your local trail centre. The previous incarnation of the Cirex won plaudits across Europe for its excellent handling and ride characteristics. Now the new, further improved Cirex 120 is available for you to try for yourself.
Simplon also has a new range of e-MTBs for 2017 with the stand out models being the Steamer 275 Carbon and Alu models. These fully capable mountain bikes offer all the same ride characteristics of a high end MTB but with the addition of the new STEPS E8000 drive.
Other e-bikes in the range include the E-Dilly Cross and E-Dilly Tour. Powered by a BOSCH Performance Line unit, the E-Dilly models offer long distance ride ability coupled to high-end components.
Simplon´s Chenoa Uni and Chenoa HS have set new standards in E-trekking bikes since their launch. The Chenoa Uni features an incredibly light carbon frame with the comfort of a low entry and a BOSCH middle engine whilst weighing in at less than 20kg!
Uniquely, Simplon offers riders the chance to fully customise their bikes – road, MTB, e-bike or leisure – via an online configurator with almost 100,000 options in total to choose from across the range. This ensures that you get the exact bike you want delivered within a few days to your local Simplon dealer to prepare for you. All you have to do is go and ride your new bike!
