The Kingdom bikes have been under heavy testing and development this year from their 2016 Enduro team; Lee Hawden, and Matty Woodall. The lads’ bikes have been finely tuned from the chassis up with help from TF Tuned and 35 bikes and have been hitting the northern race scene hard this year, both settling comfortably into the top ten in the PMBA series.
With training and racing being high on the agenda for these guys, a weekend with nothing booked in was a rare treat, so we hit the road. With the intention of giving the bikes a solid going over, there only seemed to be one obvious direction; North, destination: Innerleithen. So we hit the road in search of loam, ruts, corners and flat out fun.
There is so much to choose from in and around Innerleithen and we put in some miles finding old and new tracks at every turn. Flat White, a new track that looks more like a machine built track, actually the produce of a solid year of hard graft by the local lads, (from everyone in the mountain community, we thank you) recently raced as part of the Tweedlove International enduro became the main focus of our attention. Endless corners railed at 11, combined with some flat out rooty and rocky sections and some airborne moments that can only really be described as pinned, at those speeds.
After a weekend of world-class riding and being looked after by the amazing Pam and Alan at The Old Town Hall B&B we came away feeling tired, battered but accomplished and that the bikes had really been put through their paces.
