With the world’s largest cycling festival wrapping up yesterday for another year we take a look through the masses of results and categories that make Sea Otter an absolute ‘must-do’ for any bike enthusiast.
“A massive Saturday took Subaru Sea Otter powered by SRAM into the weekend at full speed with perfect weather, huge crowds, and a packed schedule of events. The pro cross country fields switched things up for 2016, racing on a tight and challenging course through the hillsides just above the festival, while on the roadside, pros took a breather to either hop into the cyclocross field or rest before laps of the famous Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in the circuit race. There was no rest for the gravity pros, however, as the pro dual slalom finished off the day with the late afternoon finals – with pro downhill finals looming just hours away on Sunday morning.
“On Sunday, Mike Day and Jill Kintner took the top step in the morning’s pro downhill event, while the pro circuit race took to the track late in the afternoon (results posted when available). More than 3,000 amateur athletes tackled the trails of Fort Ord in cross country racing action and the roads around Laguna Seca Recreation Area were filled with category road racers. “
