DAKINE’s global headquarters are located in the shadow of Mt. Hood, surrounded by some of the best mountain bike trails in the Pacific Northwest. This is the perfect location for developing and testing new gear. To stay protected so that you can ride as much as possible, DAKINE launches a new protection line, consisting of knee and elbow pads, as well as a hydration pack. This new protection line pairs perfectly with DAKINE’s already existing mountain bike apparel, accessories and packs for Spring 2016.
The new Hellion knee pads have been designed for the gravity-focused rider
Designed for the gravity-focused rider, the new Hellion knee pad is a comfortable pad for the journey up while providing the burly protection needed for the race down. Comprised of breathable lightweight, perforated 2mm AriaprenePro® material and offering 4-way stretch for increased mobility. The open, mesh back with bonded hem seam construction helps eliminate hot spots while promoting increased breathability. The addition of Polygiene® odour control technology inhibits the growth of odour-causing bacteria in the fabric, so pads stay fresh and odour-free, reducing the need for excessive washing that can break down the materials. The pads also feature a low profile, 3-D moulded, CE-certified knee protector constructed of DK Impact foam that is built to be ridden hard and ridden often. DK Impact foam is soft and flexible with shock absorption on impact resulting in a comfortable, breathable and effective pad. When paired with the side padding and internal patella support, DK Impact foam delivers maximum protection against downhill blows. Includes pre-curved ergonomic patterning and cross-X elastic compression design on the back of the calf for an enhanced secure fit.
The new Slayer knee and elbow pads are Ideal for long days and all around riding
For a lighter weight, more endurance-oriented pad, DAKINE offers the new Slayer knee and elbow pad. Ideal for day-long pedals and all around riding, the pre-curved ergonomic pattern, silicone gripper elastic cuff and bonded seams create a secure and comfortable fit. Constructed of highly breathable, super thin 0.5 mm perforated ArienePro® material and CE-certified DK Impact pads for comprehensive protection in a low profile package. The addition of Polygiene® odour control neutralizes odours for all-mountain adventures.
The new Seeker pack has a removable CE-certified DK Impact spine protector
The new Seeker pack is the ultimate pack for a dedicated mountain biker. The roll-top / side-zip design utilizes a burly PU-coated 200D Nylon Ripstop to withstand abrasion and a sudden downpour. The removable CE-certified DK Impact spine protector – constructed of soft and flexible DK foam that displaces the force of even the hardest hits within a thin and light profile design – while still allowing for great airflow through the suspended mesh back panel. For hydration, the Seeker uses a custom 2L lumbar reservoir to keep the weight low, but it also accommodates an additional 3L reservoir for those long summer rides. With standard DAKINE features like pad and helmet carry, padded side phone pocket and fleece lined sunglass pocket for a pack that truly does it all.
