What do you think to this for an idea – a mountain bike built to meet the needs of its crowdfunders? The outcome should be a bike that does exactly what you want, right? Sounds like a plan, but can you really please everyone? With its raw steel finish – complete with surface rust – it certainly looks good, and judging by the riding on show it works pretty well too. With a list of customisable parts and geometries we’re interested to see how this one plays out.
“The background of the shown mountainbike is the community of the top German news site www.mtb-news.de and their crowdsourcing project. Together with Alutech and engineer Stefan Stark they developed a full suspension trail bike with the crowd according to the majority needs and wishes. ICB means Internet Community Bike. Primary produced out of Aluminium in Taiwan by Alutech we asked to be the partner for an ageless steel version with lots of customizing options and here we are! You want to change the wheelbase? Stack or reach? Steering angle? Almost every dimension can be changed because we make real custom bikes – made in Germany/Pforzheim – out of quality tubes from Reynolds, Columbus, True Temper and Dedacciai.”
