Giant Bicycles 2016 Product at Eurobike
Giant are one of the last “Big Players’ in the MTB scene to still be at Eurobike, Trek left a few years ago in favour of doing their own show and Specialized are no longer there either. This affords one of the biggest brands in the marketplace to interact with the customers and get some valuable feedback on the new designs. Highlights for us were the Reign Advanced 27.5 1 and the huge range of ladies MTB’s in the Liv range. It;s great to see the brands recognising the growing proportion of female shredders and something we love to see!
The 6.3 inches of Maestro suspension coupled with the RockShox Monarch Plus Debonair rear shock should provide an extremely plush ride, while the travel adjust Pike up front will be great on the ups and the downs with 130mm and 16omm settings to suit anything you throw at it. The bike features the new XT 11 speed drivetrain and brakeset and should prove popular among the enduro riders and racers out there.
The Reign is also available in the Ltd edition which features an aluminium frame at an attractive price point.
The Liv range arguably gets the most amount of floor space for women’s MTB’s at the whole show, so kudos to Giant and the Liv team for pushing hard with that. The stand is always popular with not only the girls but also the guys checking out the bikes that are being developed.
The Intrigue is their high end Enduro platform designed for the female rider who likes to shred the downhills hard and fast. The bike is built around the Maestro suspension platform and offers 5.5 inches of travel, with an aluminium frame and top end RockShox suspension with a Pike up front and the Monarch Plus Debonair out back the ride should be about as good as things get!
