100% burst onto the MTB scene a few years back having moved across from MotoX where their products are well recieved and have been for years. Spotting a niche in the market of eyewear they quickly went about signing up riders who didn’t have a goggle sponsor and the rest they say is history. The big news for 2016 is the DH helmet they have been working on has finally landed, dubbed the Aircraft it will be available in a shop near you soon…

The new 100% Aircraft Helmet.

The new lid has been billed as the most ventilated DH helmet on the market with 25 vents and channels to ensure a smooth flow of air over the riders head. It is constructed from a Carbon/Kevlar composite shell, on a safety tip it conforms to the ASTM Downhill and BMX Standards while complying with the ASTM, CPSC, CE and AS/NZ bicycle standards. In addition it is compatible with most of the neck braces on the market, has removable cheek pads for emergencies and will also fit most inflatable helmet removal devices used by paramedics.

Plenty of vents and distinctive styling set the Aircraft apart.

It comes with a removable and washable anti bacterial liner and a helmet “box” with integrated goggle pocket. The “box” is a soft foam padded affair to save you precious new headwear from getting scratches in the boot of the truck. The price is set at $400, which puts it firmly in the premium DH Carbon lid category with the Troy Lee D3, Kali Shiva and Bell Full 9, it’s actually the same RRP as the Bell, $50 less than the TLD and $100 less than the Kali.
