You can’t deny Lauf use out of the box thinking…

The Icelandic blue sky thinkers Lauf had their first visit to Eurobike last year, and with their innovative take on a cross country fork you couldn’t deny they got a lot of attention. Since then we have tested them and our resident XC and Marathon racer Derek Wilson has fallen in love with them. An XC fork typically doesn’t have too much travel and also needs to be relatively stiff to deal with all the climbing and power the top XC guys put through their bikes. Lauf decided a leaf sprung system with no internal parts would be lighter and easier to maintain, the rest they say is history.

At the show they had the new TR Boost fork on display, this fits the new 110mm Boost hub standard making for stiffer 29ers in the long run. Aside from just making the fork wider, they have beefed it up in the crown area. To improve the looks but also the stiffness and strength, not that the previous fork was lacking anything here.

They also have a FatBike option as well, the Carbonara offers 60mm of travel and weighs just 1100 grams and could be the perfect tool for a fat bike, offering a little more compliance over a rigid fork, yet saving a lot of weight over something like the Bluto from RockShox. Both of these new forks, and their original Trail Racer are available now, try one, you might just like it!
