As the MTB scene in Northern Europe begins to wind down with the onset of Autumn, this edit shows that the Spanish side of the Pyrenees still has plenty to offer right into October. Some amazing backcountry trails, the luxury of a van uplift service for the climbs and a friendly guide showing you the best route to a cold beer at the end of the day – what more could you ask for?!
BasqueMTB run various trips on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees. You can read the full story on their website:basquemtb.com/mountain-bike-trip-in-the-backcountry-pyrenees/
“This trail is one of the days on our Backcountry Pyrenees tour, which takes in some of the remote pre-Pyrenees trails using plenty of van uplift. This day uses several van uplifts as we traverse through a really remote area of Guara. After each uplift we descend on pristine, rocky singletrack alternating between flat out and trialsy and at the bottom of the valley we meet the van again to take us up to our next peak. Our final descent drops us at a remote hostal where we spend that night.”
The trails in this part of Guara are all about big rocky carpets which offer multiple line choices, natural jumps and berms mixed up with complicated rocky sections and difficult switchbacks.
