Zugspitze-X
Max Schumann rides from the summit of the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain, down to the Knörrhütte. Filmed in October 2011, conditions were finally perfect with very stable weather and dry rock. We left the hut at 3am, topped out at 6am and waited for sunrise. Max began his descent at about 7am and just about got to the bottom before any hikers arrived. Some of the very technical sections, such as the rock slab beside the hut and some steep steps lower down were probably ridden for the first time that day.
