GT Bicycles Launches The Fury 2014

GT Bicycles have just launched the new Fury for 2014, built from the ground up in collaboration with the Athertons and Marc Beaumont it is a real step forward in the development process. This is the bike that the GT Team have been using at the BDS Events this year, and it is the sled that will hopefully be powering them to the podium at the weekend!

The headlines? Well they have launched and aluminium frame first, the carbon one will be along soon enough, but they changed so much about the bike they wanted to ensure they got it right before they moved onto the development of the carbon frame. The good news, the new frame is 300 grams lighter than the old one, and is much stiffer in all the right places. The new bike is slacker and shorter than the predecessor mirroring modern world cup development, the head angle went from 65 degrees to 63!

What a sick looking sled!

The full bike is kitted out with Fox 40 RC2 FIT Kashima 203mm forks, a Fox DHX RC4 Kashima shock supports the 220mm of rear travel offered by the frame whilst Shimano Saint takes care of the drivetrain and the stopping power. E Thirteen LG1+ wheelset is adorned with Continental Der Kaiser Black Chili tyres the rest of the kit is largely Pro Atherton gear, seat, seatpost, grips and the whopping 800mm handlebars, with a Race Face Atlas direct mount stem.
