Sky2Trail 2018
Thu 11th Jan, 2018 @ 9:30 pm
Did you enjoy Enduro2? Well then you are going to love Sky2trail. The same format with you riding in teams of 2, and racing 150 other teams in the best place to ride enduro in the world, Les Arcs. It will all go down on the 30th June – 2nd July 2018!
Because you love riding and because you know the buzz of a great race is always better when shared!
Sky2trail is about living in the moment, not living your life through recounted stories and images, not through social media and Strava. It’s about sharing that experience on a personal level, with a group of riders from around the world that are all right there with you and participating for the same reason as you are. Not necessarily to win, but to participate, to enjoy, and to remember…..
With more focus on hardcore racing and creating the best in the world, we think that the thought of a race where the adventure and socialising is in focus has been somewhat deluted.
The best rides are with your mates, so why shouldn’t the race be like that. Starting and ending together like a team, pushing each other and helping each other down the technical and challenging natural trails of Les Arcs, and then at the bottom catching up with the rest of your friends and grabbing a beer, that is really our focus. A race where on the stages you are competitive and challenging your limits, but on the transitions you are relaxing and sharing the moment with your friends.
Bringing a fresh approach to the well-established enduro format, this 3-day ultra-social stage race is quite different to all other enduro races you’ve seen before. On each stage you must start together and finish together. It’s still blind enduro racing, but you’re very much in-it-together, you’re experiencing all the thrills and fun of the race, but with that extra fun having your mate riding with you too. All those hilarious race-run near-misses and runs-of-your-life that no-one ever saw! Now your riding buddy is the only one who can judge, and this will perhaps be even more important than what the clock says at the end of the event.
Teamwork and tactics on how to work together become a factor in getting the best results, and we’re always excited about seeing each pair’s unique interpretation of this strategy during our events.
Sky2Trail Accommodation from The Inside Line MTB
If you’ve not been to Les Arcs before, you might not know the way it works over there. Every year, Les Arcs opens the funicular train and one or two other chairlifts just for the weekend of the event prior to the full area summer opening a week later. This means that in the week after the Sky2Trail there may be limited operation of the lift in Vallandry, but the funicular and everything else is closed. If you were thinking of making a week of it and wanted to maximise the awesome riding the area has to offer, this is where The Inside Line MTB comes in, offering outstanding guiding and accommodation!
We’d recommend booking early for this week as numbers will be extremely limited. If you and your friends would like to “block book” the whole week and chalet for yourselves, a minimum group size of 6 is needed. Non-racing friends are also welcome (they can either follow the race, or we’ll take them riding whilst you’re racing). Find out more at: https://theinsidelinemtb.com/lesarcsmtbholidays/sky2trail/
