Look away now if you get a bit gippy over nasty crashes, ‘cos this one is pretty grim and it’s on a road bike! Comfortably leading the women’s road race at Rio 2016, Dutch rider Annemiek van Vleuten literally took a turn for the worst as her bike high-sided on a greasy bend, sticking her head first into the kerb. SO NASTY!
Happy to say that Annemiek has made a full recovery and returned to racing recently! Good job, Annemiek!
