Paclite® from Gore-Tex® is a material that has been designed with mountain biking in mind. Scott have utilised the fabric in this highly technical jacket that is sure to impress a feeling of quality and workmanship on whoever wears it. The idea of Gore-Tex® as a material is that it is highly breathable, while having excellent water repelling abilities. Paclite® is a development of their technology to ensure a highly breathable fabric that utilises a single shell, rather than the need for layers. They achieve this by putting a protective layer on the inside of the Gore-Tex® membrane. Making for a lighter, thinner and altogether more "packable" jacket that is perfect for biking.

The Helium features some very stylish finishing from Scott, the reflective logos are subtle enough to make this a "wear anywhere" garment. A removable hood attaches to a fleece lined collar for comfort. Waterproof zip and storm flap adorn the front and there are stretch panels on the arms to ensure comfort. A mobile phone pocket on the chest and two side pockets make for reasonable storage and there is a generous butt flap! It does lack any venting which makes this more of a jacket for the depths of winter and on those days where you want to stay absolutely dry!
The stylish looks and finish of the Helium Paclite® impressed the test team, they also loved the total waterproofing and highly breathable nature of the fabric.
