With a long history of manufacturing technical protective gear for the motorbike and motocross worlds, Alpinestars know a thing or two about making kneepads.
Buy Body Armour onThe Morzine Knee Guard is a lightweight soft protector ideal for the summer months, or everyday riding when you don’t want anything too chunky, but want some protection should you find yourself getting intimate with the trail.
Constructed from a stretchy 3D mesh with built-in flexible and ergonomically shaped padding across the knee these offer a really good barrier upon impact, yet they are so low profile you hardly notice that you’re wearing them.
A pull-on design with two Velcro straps ensure you get a snug fit and the knee guards stay in place exceedingly well when riding. This is also helped by the clever addition of internal silicon detailing around the top and bottom, not dissimilar to strapless bras for those of you who might know! Suffice to say you won’t find these knee pads annoying you by slipping down all the time.
The 3D mesh is breathable so the airflow around your knees, even the warmest of days, is excellent. One thing we must mention about the pull-on design, other than remember to put them on before your shoes, is that the mesh material around the back isn’t particularly heavy duty so take care pulling them on and off.
The name Morzine implies these might be for more full-on riding, but I think that’s somewhat deceptive. We found them perfect for our local trails and hills and they’ve been our go-to pads for the summer. For lightweight, airy, super comfortable and unobtrusive knee guards you can’t go wrong with this pair.
