At A Glance
Born from the Pacific Northwest in the US ANVL components are relatively new on the scene but have a pedigree that goes way back to the dawn of biking. Each component they make has been meticulously researched, sketched, and designed with hardcore riding in mind. Using the most advanced materials and manufacturing process available they have created the Tilt pedal as a low profile, high grip offering to rival many of the current crop of performance flats. Designed to be mated with some MTB specific flat shoes the ANVL should offer a superior connection to one of the most important parts of your bike.

Manufactured from 6061 Extruded Alloy and 3D CNC machined for accuracy they are 14mm thick at the centre point and use 3 cartridge bearings with 20 pins per pedal. Weighing in at just 388 grams.
On The Trail
Whilst the Tilt doesn’t have the largest surface area available on the market, it comes pretty close! These pedals offer plenty of grip and a very low profile, which is essentially the Holy Grail of any flat pedal! I’ve got pretty massive plates of meat for feet and never found myself wanting more than what was on offer in terms of a contact patch. If you’ve got more normal sized appendages then you’ll love these from the get go. The pins are aggressive and large, offering tons of grip on even the roughest of terrain. An improvement would be a through pin offering to enable you to change them out easily when the inevitable pedal smashes take their toll. Available in a choice of colours, red, blue and the black we have here there should be something to pimp your ride. The bearings have held up really well to a couple of months of abuse which has seen a variety of riding conditions. It’s been wet, dry, dusty, muddy, pretty much everything you can expect from UK riding conditions and they are still running smooth and solid.
Overall
These pedals are solid and dependable, a testament to the fact they are still on my bike, stuff has to be good to receive that accolade! They still look pretty good too, despite plenty of kisses from rocks and a few crashes along the way!
