The Union was a team who’s every piece summed what DH racing is meant to be. Raw, brash, youthful and talented with just enough handling to keep everyone in line while keeping the fun alive and the energy high. You could call it a development team, but that undersells what the team was able to achieve. This chemistry crafted between the team’s managers and athletes produced a superset of athletes who every single week punched outside their weight class. Through various incarnations, the team was a revolving door. A kind of incubation chamber where it’s youthful racers would reach their highest strengths and ready themselves to become the world’s best, maintaining that fine balance of total dedication and a pure love for cycling.
At its end, the team has disbanded, seeing all athletes move on to new homes for the 2025 season. The mark left won’t be soon forgotten and the way it felt to watch the team both on the track and off is the truth of what DH is meant to be.
