VIDEO: 3 Challenges with Lightweight eMTB’s
Win a GO3 Camera by Insta360 this issue in our FREE subscriber prize draw.
TQ E-Bike set 3 different challenges to explore the mountain biking around Chamonix, each would in their own way showcase how capable a lightweight eMTB can be. From ridge lines at sunset to climbing and descending over 2500m in a day to hike a biking up to a mountain refuge and staying the night, we did it all.
This was a great test and it challenged me as a rider, the descent down the ridge line and along the glacier is something I won’t forgot anytime soon but as you’ll see, it quite genuinely demonstrated that they ride ‘almost’ like a normal MTB.

00:50 Challenge 1 – Get The Shot
2:29 Challenge 2 – Ride Over 2500m in a Day
7:06 Challenge 3 – Go Where an eBike Normally Can’t
I hope you enjoy this one, thanks a lot to TQ for making it happen and if you have any questions, leave them down below and I’ll do my best to answer them.
Cheers,
Scotty

Some quick questions answered about my bike:
– I’m riding a size large SCOTT Lumen and I’m 189cm (a 6 foot 2).
– It is a ‘lightweight’ eBike with a TQ HPR 50 motor and a 360Wh battery.
– It weighs just 16.5kg so almost handles like a ‘normal’ bike.
– The cable integration is easy to install and work on.
– The shock is easily accessed and adjusted via a hatch on the down tube.
