THE NEW WHYTE
For over 22 years Whyte Bikes had dedicated itself to engineering the extraordinary: innovative, award-winning, trail blazing bikes that inspire confidence and spread joy.
For 2024 the brand is moving up a gear. Doubling down on what we’re known for – such as engineering-led design and technical innovation – and introducing a new logo, new industrial design, a new visual language and developing the brand. But the new Whyte is more than just skin deep, it signifies the intention to inspire even more riders to Ride Extraordinary in 2024 and beyond.
2024 MODEL LINEUP
Two entirely new ranges were introduced for model year ‘24 (MY24) – the all-new E-Lyte lightweight eMTBs, and RHeO city/eCity and leisure bikes. A more curated, focused line was also introduced across the rest of Whyte’s range of electric and mechanical MTBs, their specs were improved wherever was possible and their prices have significantly dropped. All to make them more affordable for more riders, as well as easier to navigate for shops and riders alike.
HELPING RIDERS MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE
All Whyte bikes and ebikes are designed, developed and tested to exceed the relevant test standards. The brand also classifies all bikes by their intended use, ranging from category one (1) ‘road’, through two (2) ‘cross/gravel’, three (3) ‘trail’, four (4) ‘enduro’, to category five (5) ‘downhill and freeride’. All to make it even easier for riders to find the right Whyte for them so they can ride with total peace of mind.
BRAND NEW: E-Lyte lightweight, full-power eMTBs
The E-Lyte range is engineered for riders looking for a significantly lighter and more natural ‘mountain bike’ ride experience, together with 600W of peak power and the range to do it all. Three full-carbon models make up the range: The category three XC/trail E-Lyte 140 Works (140mm front/135mm rear travel), and the category four trail/enduro E-Lyte 150 Works, and E-Lyte 150 RSX (150mm front, 142mm rear travel).
The flagship XC/trail model E-Lyte 140 Works comes in at just 16.4kg (size M), the 150 Works trail/enduro bike at 19.2kg (size M) and the similar RSX at 18.9kg (size M). Despite these low weights, every E-Lyte comes complete with a fully trail-proven spec, including reinforced tyres, four-pot brakes, full-length dropper posts, wide handlebars and appropriate forks, so there’s no need to compromise on the way you ride.
All models feature the new lightweight, mid-torque (55Nm), full power (600W peak) Bosch SX motor to deliver riders a whole new level of eMTB performance. Both Works bikes offer 650Wh of combined battery, thanks to the 400Wh internal battery and 250Wh PowerMore range extender (included as standard on both Works bikes); the RSX comes with the 400Wh internal battery inside the downtube and is also compatible with the PowerMore (purchased separately).
E-160 FULL POWER eMTBs
The confidence-inspiring and capable E-160 eMTB continues its reign for 2024. There are now three levels of E-160 – S, RS and RSX – in a choice of colours, and all have improved specifications including SRAM AXS wireless shifting on every model (Classic on the S model, T-Type on RS, RSX). At the same time, prices dropped by £1000 across the board for even better value. All models are 29in in sizes M-XL and the S, and RS offer XS and S with 27.5in wheels. All come with new Whyte branding across a selection of new colour schemes.
E-180 FULL POWER eMTBs
The self-shuttle, gravity and super e-enduro heavy hitter of Whyte’s eMTB range continues for 2024 and remains a favourite among those who want to go steeper, faster and bigger on their rides. There are two models to the range for ‘24, both with MX (‘Mullet’) wheels. The S model comes with Bosch CX motor while flagship Works model comes with the limited-edition Bosch CX Race motor. Prices have been reduced and specs have been improved with SRAM AXS shifting on both models, while the price on the Works model has been slashed by £1000. New colours and branding adorn the bikes.
529 AND 629 HARDTAIL MTBs
Whyte’s highly regarded 529 and 629 trail models take keep hardtail baton running into ’24, offering impeccable ‘fast, far and fun’ trail handling, for significantly lower prices together with up-to-date specs and livery.
T-140 AND T-160 FULL SUSPENSION MTBs
Two fan-favourite mechanical rides make the range for ’24. Rolling on 29er wheels, the T-140 offers 140mm front and 135mm rear travel for all round trail duties, while the T-160 pairs 160mm front with 150mm rear travel, delivering a sweet spot for all-mountain and enduro riders. Both feature geometry adjustment and are also designed to be MX-able so riders can run them their way. Whyte also reduced the prices substantially on both while maintaining their great specs to offer even better value than ever before.
BRAND NEW: RHeO1 (mechanical), RHeO2 (electric) and RHeO3 (electric) eCity AND LEISURE BIKES
Whyte’s all-new line of city and leisure bikes is named after the ancient greek word for ‘flow’ and are engineered to let riders do that, every day. Designed from the ground up, RHeO consolidates everything the brand has learned about great bike dynamics into a stylish and performant urban line. Add 1x drivetrain simplicity and clever features like integrated lights (model dependent) and you’ve got all the right ingredients to take the streets and bike paths by storm. RHeO1 is mechanical, RHeO2 and RHeO3 are electric, with RHeO3 coming fully loaded with mudguards, rack, integrated lighting front and rear, and a dropper post so it’s ready to roll off the shop floor. All models come in a choice of regular or step-through (ST) frames. The lightweight electric models are powered by new KMC Kynamic Hub Motor system (with industry leading three-year warranty), making every ride a breeze.
